The collection contains proposed seal designs from the founding of Queens College, an engraved stone of the official seal, and digital designs of subsequent logos and medals used at Queens College over the decades.
Queens College SEEK Records
This collection document the history of The Percy Ellis Sutton Search for Education, Elevation, and Knowledge (SEEK) program at Queens College from 1966 to the present. It contains administrative records, publications, photographs, ephemera, and audiovisual materials. SEEK is a higher education opportunity program that played a historic role in opening the City University of New York (CUNY) system to more diverse students populations.
Queens College Student Publications Bound Volumes
This collection consists of 86 bound volumes containing the student publications of Queens College. The titles represented include: Phoenix, Knightbeat, The Crown, Rampart, The Globe, HA-OR, The Beacon, The Last Word, Kastle, Our World, The Spectrum, Third World News, Update, QC Quad, Skyline, Newsbeat, Queens WOrld, and The Knight News. There are some volumes that are duplicates.
Queens College Student Publications Collection
The Student Publications Collection consists of 28 Queens College student newspapers and 34 student magazines from the school’s founding in 1937 to the present. They cover national, local, and campus news. Some were developed as competitors with other newspapers; others were made by multicultural groups on campus. A few titles have spin-off “joke” counterparts.
