Scope and Contents

This collection documents the activities of the Queens College Faculty Wives Club, including social activities and fundraising. The club formally changed it's name to the Queens College Women's Club in 1967. The earliest records date to 1938, one year after Queens College was established. Materials include administrative records, photos from an "arts and hobbies show" in 1967, scrapbooks, clippings, bulletins, newsletters, fliers, and directories. A highlight is a bound, illustrated recipe collection compiled by the Club in 1966.

This collection was solicited by Librarian Shoshana Kaufman in 1970 for preservation in the archives, as demonstrated by a letter dated January 20, 1970 addressed to Marion Newman, President of the Queens College Women's Club.
