Historical Note

Queens College was founded in 1937 at the site of a former institution for delinquent boys, to serve the needs of a diverse and growing borough with affordable higher education. As part of the greater City University of New York (CUNY) system, Queens College (as of 2013) enrolls students from over 100 countries speaking more than 60 languages during any given semester.

The Alumni Association, which formed in 1941 (the first graduating class) sought to keep the Queens College alumni in touch with the current college community, containing articles relating to new developments and events. The first outreach effort, starting in 1948, was a 4 fold pamphlet called the Queens College Report, which has expanded in size and continues to be published occasionally. The collection of magazine-style publications starts in 1974, and the title changed over the years. These publications have been published by various administrative entities, including the Queens College Foundation and Queens College Communications.
