Abstract: The Queens College Campus Unrest Collection contains papers, correspondence, and flyers regarding the Spring 1969 sit-in protest of the social science building by the Ad Hoc Committee to End Political Suppression. The protest was in defense of the three members of the Students for a Democratic Society who were arrested and charged for leading a protest for the removal of General Electric recruiters from QC campus. This collection contains photos and related papers documenting the creation and installation of the five bells in the Chaney-Goodman-Schwerner Clock Tower of Queens College’s Rosenthal Library.

The collection is comprised of commencement programs and baccalaureate programs maintained by the Office of Special Events and Alumni Affairs. Awards, medals, and honorary degrees given at commencements are also documented.

Scope and Contents

Audio recordings of hearings held by the "Commission on the Organization of the College" between Monday, January 31 and Wednesday, February 16, 1972. Accompanying the audio cassettes is a "Calendar of Meetings" listing the dates, topics, and locations of the meetings, as well as the 18 members of the commission; and a letter from Chief Librarian Robert H. Muller noting that these recordings "will some day be viewed as a crucial milestone in the development of the college."

Queens College Creative Services employs and/or contracts photographers to document academics, student life, and events on campus to create publicity and marketing material about the college. This collection includes photograph prints, photograph albums, and some negatives from the founding of the college in 1937 through about 2007, used by the Creative Services department in its work.

Scope and Contents This collection documents the activities of the Queens College Faculty Wives Club, including social activities and fundraising. The club formally changed it's name to the Queens College Women's Club in 1967. The earliest records date to 1938, one year after Queens College was established. Materials include administrative records, photos from an "arts and hobbies show" in 1967, scrapbooks, clippings, bulletins, newsletters, fliers, and directories. Abstract

House plans were social organizations for men or women that were active in Queens College and other CUNY campuses in the 1960s. This collection includes a variety of Queens College house plans memorabilia like pins, buttons, and photographs. It also includes print ephemera like party programs and invitations, ticket stubs, and newspaper clippings.
