Biographical Note

Wally Rosenthal was the president of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) chapter at Queens College in 1969. After leaving Queens College, Rosenthal got a job in the post office where his interactions with a diverse group of co-workers convinced him to become an active Marxist. During a 31-year career he was elected many times (as an "open red") to be a union shop steward. Upon retiring he became a teacher in CUNY Start. Over the years he has sung songs of struggle and revolution at May Day rallies and other events. He remains a committed progressive activist for social and economic justice and an egalitarian world.
