Friends of the Library, 1961 - 2005

Scope and Contents

This series consists of founding documents (constitution and by-laws), meeting minutes, publicity, membership materials, fundraising information, and administrative files of the Friends of the Queens College Library. The Friends organization ran book sales on behalf of the library, encouraged financial and book donations, and sponsored cultural activities and programming, including initiating the Queens Poet Laureate project.

Paul Klapper Library, circa 1950s to 1972

Scope and Contents

This subseries consists of an artistic rendering of Paul Klapper Building (box 8); original contracts and design plans for the construction of Klapper Library (boxes 11-12); cornerstone and dedication ceremony materials (box 16); a 1967 proposal for Klapper Library expansion (box 14); and a 1972 study on needs of the Klapper Library (box 14).
