The Asian/American Center, founded at Queens College in 1987, fostered community based research focused on the Asian diaspora and acted as a bridge between campus and community. The collection contains administrative materials such as newsletters and brochures, flyers and photographs of events, samples of translated documents from their Translation Program, materials from the Asian American Community Studies minor, and research produced by the A/AC.

This series contains the Asian/American Center collections materials pertaining to the running of the center’s operations. Included is historical information on the founding, flyers and promotional materials, reports, newsletters, staff training materials, press coverage, program materials such as business cards and letterhead.

Historical information on the founding of the Asian/American Center. The original folder housing the documents was labeled "Historical Founding Documents." Documents in this file include information on the center’s mission and work, staff biographies, A/AC newsletters from 2000-2002 and 2004, and three letters from different non-profits thanking the Translation Program for their translation assistance.

This series contains program outreach, event materials, Summer Institute materials, and scholarship program materials for the academic minor which began in 2010.

This series contains reports, research from the 2000s census, and a "Working Papers" series produced by the Asian/American Center dating from the late 1980s up until the mid 2010s.

This folder contains a brochure advertising the Center's community research, publications, conferences and seminars, campus programs, research collection, translation program, and neighborhood field-visits.

The Asian/American Center newsletter, A/AC News, provided updates on the center's operations, its faculty and staff, and the larger Asian American Queens College and CUNY communities. Newsletters from 2001 and 2004 feature a "Student Voices" column.

This folder contains a flyer advertising focus group discussions for Asian American students of any major. The flyer contains eligibility information and how to apply.

This file contains brochures produced by the A/AC to advertise academic scholarships and the A/AC minor to undergrads.

CUNY and Asian Americans to the Year 2000: An Asian American Perspective is a position paper presented by the Asian American Higher Education Council. The paper addresses how CUNY faces challenges in meeting the needs of Asian American students and offers policy recommendations for reorienting CUNY efforts.
