Scope and Content

This subseries contains programs, program notes, reviews, publicity materials, and newspaper clippings concerning performances of Karol Rathaus’s works during his lifetime and after his death in 1954 through the 1980s. Some files include related correspondence.

Arrangement

The majority of the materials are filed based on the title of the work. Additionally, memorial concert materials are filed together and a few files are grouped by location of the performance, artist who performed the work, or contain mixed materials.

Processing Information

Some clippings and whole newspapers were weeded due to their fragile condition and availability elsewhere. Weeded items primarily derived from the New York Times and various Queens College student newspapers. Researchers are encouraged to consult these sources independently.
