Theatrum poetarum (Theatre of poets), 1675
3.1 Scope and Contents Note
A dictionary of ancient and modern poets. The first page gives a short Nota Bene about the ordering of the (modern) names. An anonymous writer notes in the Nota Bene that the authors are ordered by their Christian name, not by surname. He takes John Milton as an example, and notes that Phillips says he is recently deceased (on page 114 of the 2nd part). The anonymous writer gives December 15th as the date of Milton’s death, but the accepted date is November 8th.
