This series contains photographs of U.S. Marine Corps operations in the Phillipines. Included in Box #1: Saipan Operation Set No. 5 Saipan Operation Set No. 2 Tinian Operation Set No. 1 Tarawa Operation Set No. 1 Tarawa Operation Set No. 2

Included in Box #2: 14 photos of the Nagasaki bomb aftermath. They include 5 photos of Mitsubishi steel factory ruins, 2 Urakami ruins, 1 prefecture government building, 2 roman catholic church photos, 2 hospital and school photos and 1 with destroyed clocks with “peace from Nagasaki” stamps on photograph.

Biographical / Historical

During World War II, Marines were given the opportunity to purchase these sets of official photographs from various campaigns.
