Biographical / Historical

Mary Reuder (1923-2017) was a professor of psychology at Queens College from 1958 until retiring in 1986. She received her undergraduate degree from the College of St. Catherine (1944), her M.A. from Brown University (1945) and her Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania (1951). Reuder worked as a management specialist and research psychologist for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army before coming to Queens. During her years at the college, Reuder served as chair of the Psychology Department, acting dean, and chair of the Academic Senate; she was also a member of the American Psychological Association for more than 60 years.
