Scope and Contents

Transcripts, correspondence, permissions, and other documentation related to the 75th anniversary of Queens College oral history project coordinated by Professor Bobby Wintermute, who held a three-credit History class in which students conducted interviews with faculty, staff, alumni and others associated with Queens College. Some prospective interviewees filled out questionnaires and other preliminary paperwork, but were never interviewed. Digital files, when available, have been transferred to the Queens Public Library and published through the Queens Memory Project.

The interviews cover a range of topics related to the history of the college and the individual experiences of faculty, staff and students in connection with the school.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The bulk of the files were transferred from Professor Bobby Wintermute to Queens College Special Collections and Archives in 2022. Some digital files may have been transferred to and published by the Queens Memory Project/Queens Public Library between 2013 and 2022. In addition, several files were transferred by volunteer interviewer Rebecca Rushfield in 2025.

Processing Information

Interviews with audio files have been contributed to the Queens Memory Project, a collaborative program of the Queens Public Library and Queens College to collect stories, images and other evidence of life in the borough of Queens. The digital files are preserved by the Queens Public Library. Paper files are stored at Queens College Library Special Collections and Archives.
