Scope and Contents
This sub-series is primarily devoted to Director Harry J. Psomiades’ correspondence. In it, he discusses many topics related to the Center for Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies such as ongoing issues regarding funding for salary, staff and lecturer lines, the Advisory Council, the Center's anniversaries, student graduations, the Greek Bilingual Training Program, various lectures and conferences held by the Center, courses offered by the Center, as well as budget cuts and course changes. Psomiades also has correspondence with the Ikaros Club, the Lucy Platt Foundation, the Onassis Foundation, Dean Ernest Schwarcz, and President Saul B. Cohen. Psomiades' speech on the Ecumenical Patrichate in Captivity is included.
This sub-series also contains mixed correspondence from various people related to the center, correspondence related to the estate of Constantine George which was bequeathed to the center, topics of Hellenistic education, and ongoing Greek issues.
