Overview The Aaron Copland School of Music Collection (formerly the Department of Music) consists of materials about the administrative, faculty and student activities of the Aaron Copland School of Music. The collection contains a wide-range of materials including correspondence, brochures, photographs, audio tapes, press clippings, and department course and event schedules. The bulk of the collection consists of personnel files of prominent department faculty.
Abstract The Andrew Berman Collection contains newspaper clippings, publications, activist documents, correspondence, fliers, position papers, conference notes and video footage documenting Mr. Berman’s political and social activism during his tenure as a Queens College student in the early-to-mid 1960s. Materials document Mr. Berman’s activist work with several major organizations, most significantly the Queens College chapter of Students for a Democratic Society.

Abstract This collection contains physical and digital items related to several oral history projects conducted by Dr. Bette Weidman, professor of English at Queens College, between 1987 and 2012. Physical items consist of audiocassettes and printed and handwritten documents; digital files include oral history recordings, interview outlines and related project documents.
Abstract The Elliot Linzer Collection consists primarily of near-print materials, such as handbills, mimeographed flyers, and pamphlets documenting the activities of various New York City-area chapters of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), a civil rights organization, during the early 1960s. Elliot Linzer is a Queens College alumnus and former member of CORE.

Abstract As a Queens College student, Jean Leanore Konzal, née Stein, volunteered with the Student Help Project, an initiative that provided free tutoring services to under-served children in South Jamaica, Queens from 1962-1968. Abstract The Oscar Shaftel papers contains correspondence, flyers, press clippings, transcripts of testimony, printed materials and miscellanea documenting student activism at Queens College in the late 1940s and early 1950s and the effect of McCarthyism on academic freedom in New York State.
