Abstract The papers of Ann Birstein consist chiefly of typescript manuscripts of published fiction and non-fiction works. Abstract Collection consists of items from Aaron Taube’s work with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) Queens Branch during the months of February through November 2018 to help elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as U.S. Representative for New York's 14th congressional district. On June 26, 2018 Ocasio-Cortez pulled off an upset victory over ten term incumbent Joseph Crowley in the Democratic primary. Abstract The Hubert Albertz collection contains documentation of political activism of Hubert Albertz, a New York City custodian and member of the Building Service Employees International Union (BSEIU) Local 32E. Albertz was fired from his job and expelled from his Local in the Bronx for protesting dues increases at a union meeting. He spent over 30 years documenting and exposing corruption in the BSEIU.
Abstract Professor, activist, radical, and biographer, the Michael Wreszin collection contains a large number of documents related to American radical culture of the 20th century. A large portion of the collection is devoted to the 20th century radical, Dwight Macdonald, of whom Wreszin wrote a biography, and other New York Intellectuals. Abstract The Paul Klapper Collection contains the correspondence, administrative files, certificates and awards, photographs, public speeches, programs, newspaper clippings, a doctoral hood, and his personal book collection of the first President of Queens College. The bulk of the collection covers 1937-1948, from the founding of the school until Klapper's retirement.
Abstract This collection consists of items related to numerous collaborative art projects directed by Dr. Rikki Asher, professor of arts education at Queens College, between 2000 and 2011. The collection includes color slides, photos, and postcards, published articles, news clippings, printed booklets and programs, sketches, audiocassettes, DVD’s and other miscellanea.
