Abstract

The Aaron Copland School of Music Collection (formerly the Department of Music) consists of materials about the administrative, faculty and student activities of the Aaron Copland School of Music. The collection contains a wide-range of materials including correspondence, brochures, photographs, audio tapes, press clippings, and department course and event schedules. The bulk of the collection consists of personnel files of prominent department faculty.

Scope and Contents The “Photographs and Audio Materials” is comprised of visual and audio materials created by the school of music. Photographs include staff photographs and headshots, as well as graduation ceremonies. Audio materials include two cassettes of the Queens String Quartet, Karl Rathaus recordings, and an interview with Ambassador Balundi, Chief of Peruvian Delegation to the United Nations. Scope and Contents This series is comprised of personnel files on faculty in the school of music. These files include private, internal documents such as teaching evaluations and appointment letters. Also included are examples of faculty work, including publications authored by faculty or articles written about faculty work by outside sources.
