This series contains 16 color photographs dating from the summer of 1965. The photographs depict a speech by Martin Luther King, Jr. at the orientation in Atlanta (June 15, 1965); volunteers being arrested after organizing a sit-in and the subsequent court hearing; a Ku Klux Klan (KKK) rally held in the area; and the house in Orangeburg where many of the volunteers stayed.
