Advocacy and Activism, 1968 - 2023

 Sub-Series — Box: 1

Scope and Contents

This subseries documents efforts of Queens College SEEK faculty, staff, students, alumni, and allies to advocate for the program through letter writing campaigns, student organizations, and other initiatives. Some files cover non-SEEK organizations with adjacent interests, such as the Queens College Black and Latino Alumni Association, and Black/Latinx Faculty and Staff Association.

Of particular note, the Vandalism at Delany Hall file chronicles an incident in 2022, wherein racist and anti-semitic graffiti was found on a bulletin board in Delany Hall on on January 6, the one-year anniversary of the riot at the U.S. Capitol. Digital files document the response of the Queens College administration and demands of the Delany residents through emails, announcements, clippings, and photographs.
