Photographs, 1946 - 2017
Scope and Contents
This series includes photographs of Kouguell's life, performances, and tenure at Queens College. Beginning in 1946 when he came to the United States, Kouguell's photographs act as literal snapshots of his life, documenting moments such as time with his parents, his honeymoon to Lake Placid, and his mentorship of Queens College students. His family albums detail family trips to Paris, the various boats he took, and smaller vacations with friends.
The photographic material ranges from older polaroids, postcards, and black and white prints to more modern color photographs. Additionally, there are signed headshots of performers that Kouguell met at home and abroad throughout his nearly 70 year career.
