Scope and Contents

This file contains posters, fliers, leaflets, campaign contribution receipts, party platform statements, sample ballots, campaign promotional materials, stickers, and publications created and distributed from the mid 1960s to late 1960s pertaining to political candidates and current issues in US electoral politics. These materials were created and distributed by groups such as the National Mobilization Committee, the Fifth Avenue Vietnam Peace Parade Committee, the Coalition for a Democratic Alternative, the Peace and Freedom Party, the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and others. The materials cover a broad array of positions regarding the support or rejection of various candidates in the 1968 US Federal elections particularly related to the candidacies of Paul O’Dwyer, Edmund Muskey, and Jim Buckley for US Senator and the candidacies of Richard Nixon, Hubert Humphrey, and George Wallace for US President.

Also included in this file are three buttons featuring artwork and slogans advocating against voting for Hubert Humprey, Richard Nixon, and George Wallace for the US Presidency in 1968 and in favor of Democratic primary candidate Eugene McCarthy.
