Processing Information

This series was originally processed by Sarah Barlow-Ochshorn and Emily Crow in August 2022 as part of the Queens College Graduate School of Library and Information Studies summer 2022 course "790.3 004: Advanced Archival Practice." Accretions were proccessed by Olivia Zisman in Fall 2025-Spring 2026.

Arrangement

Subseries are arranged based on the original order in which Barbara Rosenthal packed up the correspondence to give to the archives. The subseries consisting of correspondence between Barbara Rosenthal's parents and grandparents-Leon Rosenthal and Evelyne (Freundlich) Rosenthal, and Max Freundlich and Bessie (Klein) Frendlich-is arranged as it existed in the box from Rosenthal. The Correspondence from friends to Rosenthal is arranged in the same manner, however Rosenthal grouped the letters herself by sender, so the archivists maintained that order. The Rosenthal - Liss marriage correspondence subseries is arranged based on the sender of the letters because there was no apparent order to the box the letters were received in.
