Scope and Contents

The types of materials found in this subseries include political advertisements and newsletters, committee-produced political propaganda endorsing Marshall's candidacy by organizations such as the Frederick Douglass Democratic Association, hand-written talking points and notes on outreach ideas, and other materials saved by Marshall to document the impact and strategies of her campaigns. The materials within cover a broad range of political eras of New York State and City history, from the mid-1970s to the early 2000s.

Language of Materials

From the Collection:

Majority of the materials are written in English. A small quantity of correspondence is in Spanish and Korean. It is possible that there are other languages present throughout the correspondence, though it would be a very small percentage.
