Temporary Services: The Library Project, 2001
Scope and Contents
"In 2001, the artist collective Temporary Services launched the Library Project, in which 100 books were surreptitiously placed on the shelves at the Harold Washington Library Center. Some of the books were previously published works by artists and small presses. Others were artists' books, unique works of art in book form. The donated books were altered with call numbers, stamps, and other identification so that they would pass as regular library books. Also included in this collection is the Temporary Services pamphlet describing the Library Project. This includes an inventory of the books and artists represented."--from the CUNY catalog record
