Scope and Contents
The Queens College series includes research and exhibit panels collated and/or displayed for the Queens College 50th Anniversary in 1987; war-related correspondence and photographs of Queens College faculty member Oscar Shaftel; ephemera related to rationing of goods issued by the Office of Price Administration in Washington DC; and several issues of 1940s publications related to Queens and CUNY. Correspondence, memoranda,and other items provide evidence of the Queens College Council for Defense; the Queens College Civil Liberties Committee; and the Queens College Army Specialized Training Program. Finally, there is a written reminiscence by Margaret Gram of what life was like on campus in 1943-1944, and the manuscript of an original song written for returning veterans.
