Personal Photos, circa early 1920s to early 2010s
Scope and Contents
This subseries contains loose photos, photo albums, and scrapbooks. Scrapbooks included in this subseries document some of Marshall's political career via newsclippings and photos, and appear to have been curated by Marshall herself as a personal keepsake. Additional scrapbooks were compiled for Marshall by a creator self-identified as Mrs. Eva G. Morris, Church of N.Y. Voice Reporter and retired teacher, 80 years old. Some of the oldest photos in this subseries date back to the 1920s, portraying Marshall's parents and other relatives. Photos taken throughout Marshall's childhood and young adult years are also present.
The photos in this subseries help to illustrate Marshall's interior life outside of politics, including her time as a wife to her husband Donald, a mother to her two children, Agnes Marie and Donald Jr., and as a grandmother to her two grandchildren, Chandler and Chasen. Photos of Marshall with family and friends at weddings and birthday celebrations, on vacations, and enjoying other recreational events taken throughout the latter half of the twentieth century comprise the bulk of this subseries.
