Scope and Contents
This subseries contains materials related to the Unemployment and Poverty Action Committee (UPAC) and The Unemployment and Poverty Action Council Legal Defense, Education and Research Fund, Inc (UPAC Fund Inc), for which Forman served as President, as well as personal materials of Forman's. UPAC materials include mass mailings, fliers, and financial information. Forman's personal papers include correspondence, a journal, notes, clippings, and ephemera. Additionally there are materials related to Forman's campaigns for office in Washington D.C. and his advocacy for D.C. statehood. There are also materials related to Forman's health, biographical information, and clippings on Forman.

Appointments to examine materials must be made in advance. Please e-mail QC.archives@qc.cuny.edu for more information or to schedule an appointment. Some legacy media items will remain inaccessible until they are converted to modern digital formats. Forman's collection of books, as well as a portion of the periodicals and pamphlets he collected, are currently inaccessible and/or unprocessed.
