Family: A Book, 1994
Scope and Contents
"Accordion-style folded book housed in a wooden box with a front door that opens with a ribbon pull tab. Illustrations are of household tools or utensils which are meant to represent family members--hammer represents father, spatula represents mother, screwdriver represents brother, scissors represents sister. These four tools are overlaid on dictionary-style definitions of each family member. The book suggests that the family unit has preconceived gender and sex roles for each family member, which serve as a tool of socialization and stereotype beyond the family. No.51 out of 100. Signed by the author."--from the CUNY catalog record
