This series contains notebooks, papers, assignments, syllabi, and handouts from Schwarz’s academic career after Queens College, divided into subseries. Included are materials from his Masters classes in Music at Indiana University, PhD classes in Music at the City University of New York Graduate Center, and courses taken at Brooklyn College and New York University. There is extensive research on writer and composer Paul Bowles, including a musical timeline, essays written by Bowles, transcripts of interviews, correspondence with Bowles, a bibliography, and locations of Bowles’ music.
