Scope and Contents

The series includes letters, drafts of letters, telegrams, postcards, and emails to and from individuals, music publishers, organizations, and academic institutions. The Correspondence series comprises approximately 50% of the collection. The academic correspondence contains several letters to and from Queens College music faculty. This series contains evidence of his dedication to his work as educator and composer.

The collection is almost entirely in English. The correspondence series contains small selection of letters in French.

Conditions Governing Access

Appointments to examine materials must be made in advance. Please e-mail QC.archives@qc.cuny.edu for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Extent

From the Collection: 5 Linear Feet (11 boxes including 2 flat boxes) : Correspondence is the largest series, comprising approximately 50% of the collection, located in five boxes. The Performances series contains programs and performance reviews that are located in three boxes, comprising approximately 30% of the collection. The Contracts, Personal, and Oral Exercises series complete the remaining 20% of the collection. *A box of music manuscripts was added to the collection at a later date, comprising box 11.

Materials in this series are arranaged chronologically. Any items that do not include specific dates are noted with estimated date ranges.
