Scope and Contents
This series consists of a pamphlet reprinted from an 1965 issue of Commentary, containing the essay From Protest to Politics- the Future of the Civil Rights Movement by Bayard Rustin; a brochure distributed by the Ku Klux Klan entitled The Principles of the United Klans of America, Inc.; and two news articles, one of which depicts the arrest and trial of SCOPE volunteers on August 2, 1965. Also included in this series is a facsimile of a volunteer assignment list by institutional origin and state with additional notes by Dean Savage.
