Campus shots
Scope and Contents
Photographs in this series consist mainly of students on campus and participating in campus life. For its published materials, Creative Services collected existing evidence and commissioned photographers to capture the diversity of the student population, its interests, and the everyday situations students could expect to see and alumni could be prompted to remember. Named events, organizations, or departments can be found in other series; these photographs are almost entirely of unnamed students living, studying, and hanging out on campus.
Photographs are often organized by theme, such as dancing, bicycles, classrooms, playing chess, students with guitars, students at computers, in the student union, etc. Other photographs are organized by time period, such as 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, etc. Finally, the great majority of photographs are just categorized as "student life" or "campus shots" and depict the kind of activity detailed in the above paragraph.
